En 1959-60 dirigió a Caguas al campeonato convirtiéndose en el único campeón bate, dirigente del equipo campeón y Dirigente del Año en la misma temporada…en 1955-56 fue líder en hits (87) y seleccionado Jugador Más Valioso…líder en jonrones en 1951-52 (9) y 1957-58 (13)…de por vida, está tercero en carreras empujadas (489); empatado con Saturnino “Nino” Escalera en el cuarto lugar en dobles (155); empatado con Santos Alomar en sexto lugar en triples (38): séptimo en hits (980), octavo en total de bases (1,376); y décimo en carreras anotadas (463)…en 1950-51 empujó 63 carreras sin conectar de jonrón lo que representa el total más alto de carreras empujadas por un puertorriqueño en toda la historia de la Liga…se estafó tres bases en un partido el 23/1/59 frente a San Juan en la Serie Semifinal…en la franquicia de los Criollos de Caguas ocupa la primera posición en turnos al bate (3,305), hits (980), dobles (155), triples (38), carreras empujadas (489) y carreras anotadas (463). Fue un fenómeno a la defensiva y el primero en fildear en la inicial con una mano y atrás de la base. Su habilidad y agilidad le permitió jugar todas las posiciones menos la receptoría. Electo al Pabellón de la Fama del Deporte Puertorriqueño en 1981, Salón de la Fama del Béisbol Profesional Puertorriqueño en el 1991 y en el 2013 fue seleccionado como uno de los mejores 75 jugadores de la Liga de Béisbol Profesional del Puerto Rico.
In 1959-60 he led Caguas to the championship becoming the only batting champion, manager of the champion team and Manager of the Year in the same season… in 1955-56 he was the leader in hits (87) and selected Most Valuable Player… leader in home runs in 1951-52 (9) and 1957-58 (13)… Career-wise, he ranks third in RBIs (489), tied with Saturnino “Nino” Escalera for fourth in doubles (155), tied with Santos Alomar for sixth place in triples (38): seventh in hits (980), eighth in total bases (1,376); and tenth in runs scored (463)… in 1950-51, he drove in 63 runs without a home run, which represents the highest total of RBIs by a Puerto Rican in the history of the League… stole three bases in a game on 1/23/59 against San Juan in the Semifinal Series…in the Criollos de Caguas franchise, he occupies the first position in at-bats (3,305), hits (980), doubles (155), triples (38), RBIs (489) and runs scored (463).He was a defensive phenom at first base and the first to field with one hand further from the base. His skill and agility allowed him to play every position except catching. He was elected to the Puerto Rican Sports Hall of Fame in 1981, the Puerto Rican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991, and in 2013, he was selected as one of the best 75 players in the Puerto Rico Professional Baseball League.
